John 12:24-25, A Place of Surrender

The verse in John reminds me to die to myself and let go of the parts of this world that I think are going to fulfill my life. It’s so hard to remember that. But drawing this image- I placed a girl in a huddled position- holding herself in a place of surrender, inside of a heart- the heart is also a seed- buried in the ground. It sort of reminds me that sometimes I need to surrender myself and my wants in this world in order to receive from God a life that’s full. And sometimes that’s going to be hard- and feel like I’m dying or being buried in the ground. The tree thought is the reminder of the good that comes from what’s hard. It’s what is being sprouted from Christ from letting go of my life and letting him take control.
